Before you start cleaning your gun safe, you want to make sure you have all the proper supplies . First, you want to make sure you have a soft, dry, abrasive cloth.  We suggest a microfiber cloth. You don’t want to use anything that will scratch the finish on your safe. Second, want you want to have water and a very mild detergent so the finish will not rust. We recommend a 70/30 water and vinegar solution.

CLEAN INSIDE

You want to start the cleaning process by vacuuming the interior. Then, wipe the interior with the microfiber cloth to remove any stains. Next, you want to dip another cloth into the water and cleaner solution to wipe away any dust left. Let the surfaces dry, and vacuum it again. Quick tip: keep any moisture away from the electronic elements of your safe.

Finally, wipe the outside of the safe with your cleaner solution. By wiping down the outside of your safe you are removing any fingerprints, dust, and debris that can be left on your safe. Wiping down the safe before you leave the house or on vacation can be useful in the event of an attack. The burglar may just leave his fingerprints behind!
